Help
Everything you need to play, host and get your tokens out. If something here is wrong or missing, tell the people who run your server.
Getting started
- Open Play on a desktop browser with WebGL (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Brave or Safari).
- Choose your wallet. Eternl, Lace, Vespr, Typhon, NuFi, Gero and other CIP-30 wallets are detected automatically. Approve the connection in the wallet pop-up.
- Pick an NFT as your avatar. Large collections load in pages as you scroll; use the search box to find one by name or policy ID.
- Style it: name tag, colour, glow, size, hover height and trail.
- Choose a world. Sandbox is private practice with copies. Live is the shared world where drops are real. Going live asks your wallet to sign a sign-in message, which does not spend anything.
No wallet? Choose "Try without a wallet" to get a demo wallet with 120 NFTs and three tokens. You can explore the live world and watch other players, but you need a real wallet to collect.
Controls
| W A S D or arrows | Move forward, strafe, back up |

On touch screens, drag with one finger to look around and hold with two fingers to move forward. Touch support is basic; a keyboard and mouse is the intended way to play.
Music
The soundtrack is generated live. Stand still and it drifts into slow ambient pads. Start moving and a synthwave beat comes in; sprint and it adds a lead line. The speaker button in the top right mutes it, and the game remembers your choice.
Hunting
In Hunt mode, fly through any glowing coin or card to collect it. Coins are tokens and cards are NFTs. Bigger amounts are slightly larger (never more than one and a half times the smallest) and glow brighter, so you can spot a big find from a distance.
The radar in the bottom left shows drops around you. Click it to cycle its range between 80 m, 200 m, 500 m and 1.5 km. Amber dots are tokens, cyan dots are NFTs. From the hunts list you can choose "Guide me" to put a waypoint on the nearest drop in a hunt.
Pickups in the live world are checked by the server: you have to actually be there. If two players reach the same drop, whoever's pickup the server sees first gets it.
Claiming to your wallet
Live finds go into your bag, which the server holds for you. To receive the real tokens:
- Open the bag (B) and choose Claim to my wallet.
- Read the summary: what you'll receive and what it costs.
- Your wallet shows the transaction. Check that the tokens are going to your own address, then sign.
- The server adds the vault's signature and submits it. Your bag updates when the transaction confirms, usually within a minute or two.
If you don't sign within 10 minutes, the claim expires and everything goes back in your bag. Very large bags are claimed 30 assets at a time to keep each transaction within Cardano's size limit.
Hosting
- Press 2 or choose Host at the top of the screen. The drop panel opens.
- Pick a token or NFT from your wallet. Token images come from on-chain metadata or the Cardano token registry.
- For tokens, set the amount per drop. Use the presets (1, 5, 10, 47, 100, 1000) or type any amount.
- Set how many drops each press makes, from 1 to 100.
- Choose Where I stand or Random around me with a radius from 5 m to 2 km.
- Press F or the Drop button. You can keep flying and dropping.
To group drops into an event, create a named hunt in the drop panel first. It appears in everyone's hunts list, and on the home page, with a count of drops left.
Funding drops
This sends real tokens. Funding moves them from your wallet to the game vault. Once a player collects a drop, it's theirs. Only fund what you intend to give away.
In the live world, new drops start as previews: faint, and visible only to you. That lets you lay out a whole hunt before committing anything. When you're ready, choose Fund and publish previews. NFT Metaverse totals what your previews need, shows it to you, asks you to confirm, and then asks your wallet to sign one deposit transaction.
When the deposit confirms, your previews go live for everyone. If you deposit more than your previews need, the rest sits in your funded balance, and anything you drop later is covered by it and goes live immediately.
Recalling and withdrawing
In the drop panel, Recall my live drops pulls every drop of yours that nobody has collected out of the world. The amounts return to your funded balance, where you can drop them again. From there, Withdraw funded balance sends them back to your wallet with the same kind of transaction as a claim.
Barriers and buildings
The people who run a world can build in it: glowing walls, force-field domes and 3D models. Solid walls and domes stop you; you can get over a wall only if you're higher than its top. Some barriers are invisible, so if you stop suddenly in open ground, you've found one. Walls and domes also show on your radar. The server checks every move, so barriers can't be skipped.
If you're an admin (you hold the NFT the server owner chose), a house-shaped button appears in the top right of the live world. Press it or N to open the world builder. The server's README explains every tool.
What things cost
| Playing and signing in | Free |
|---|---|
| Sandbox | Free. Nothing touches the chain. |
| Funding drops | The network fee for one transaction, usually under 0.3 ADA, plus the minimum ADA that travels with the tokens into the vault |
| Claiming or withdrawing | The network fee, plus about 1 to 2 ADA that must accompany native tokens. That ADA arrives in your wallet along with them. Some servers add a small service fee, which is shown before you sign. |
ADA itself can't be dropped in this version. Drops are native tokens and NFTs.
Custody and safety
Funded tokens sit in a vault wallet controlled by the server operator, and the server's ledger tracks who owns what inside it. You are trusting the operator not to lose or steal them. The server only signs transactions it built itself, and your wallet always shows you the full transaction before you sign, but a compromised server could still misbehave.
- Fund only what you're giving away, and claim finds promptly.
- Never type your seed phrase into NFT Metaverse. The game never asks for it. Your wallet handles all signing.
- Check the network. Testnet and mainnet addresses look different (
addr_test1…versusaddr1…). The world screen tells you which network the server uses. - Check each transaction in your wallet before signing: a claim should send tokens to you, and a deposit should send exactly what the summary showed.
Troubleshooting
My wallet isn't listed
Make sure the wallet extension is installed, unlocked and enabled for this site, then reload. Mobile wallet browsers are not supported yet.
"Use a preprod wallet address" or similar
Your wallet is on a different network from the server. Switch networks in your wallet settings (in Eternl, open the network selector at the top of the app), reconnect, and try again.
My NFTs don't show pictures
Images on IPFS load through public gateways, which can be slow or rate-limited. In Settings, pick a different gateway. Some images are hosted on servers that block being drawn in 3D; those appear as a coloured placeholder.
Loading my wallet is slow or fails
NFT Metaverse reads asset details from Koios, a free public Cardano API with rate limits. Big wallets load in batches and are cached in your browser, so the second visit is fast. If it fails, wait a minute and reload.
The mouse cursor disappears when I drag
That's pointer lock, so you can keep turning without hitting the edge of the screen. It releases when you let go. You can turn it off in Settings.
The game is choppy
Switch Quality to Low in Settings. It turns off bloom and lowers the resolution. Closing other GPU-heavy tabs helps too.
A pickup said "Too far away"
Your connection lagged and the server hadn't seen you arrive yet. Fly back through the drop.
My claim is stuck
A claim waits for your signature for 10 minutes and then returns to your bag. If you signed and it hasn't confirmed after a few minutes, open the transaction link in your bag's history to check it on a block explorer.
