How a hunt works
Playing
- Connect your wallet. NFT Metaverse reads which NFTs and tokens you hold. Signing in costs nothing and moves nothing.
- Pick an NFT to fly as. It becomes a floating card with its artwork on both sides. Choose a trail colour, glow and size.
- Hunt. Fly through glowing coins and cards to collect them. Bigger drops glow brighter, and the radar shows what's nearby.
- Claim to your wallet. Open your bag and sign one transaction. The real tokens arrive at your address. You pay the network fee.
Hosting
- Switch to Host mode. Pick a token or NFT from your wallet and set how much each drop holds: 1, 47, 10,000.
- Drop as you fly. Press F to drop where you are, or scatter many at random within a radius you choose, from 10 m to 2 km.
- Fund and publish. Until you fund them, drops are previews only you can see. One deposit transaction sends the tokens to the game vault and your drops go live.
- Watch them go. Anything nobody collects can be recalled to your balance and withdrawn to your wallet at any time.
Want to try it with no risk? The sandbox world uses copies of your assets. Your wallet is never touched and nothing is sent anywhere.
Where the tokens are
When a host funds drops, the tokens move on-chain to a single vault wallet run by whoever operates this server. From then on, the server keeps a ledger of who owns what: how much each host has funded but not yet dropped, and what each player has collected.
Claims and withdrawals are real Cardano transactions. The server builds each one, you check it in your wallet and sign, and the vault co-signs only transactions it built itself. Your wallet shows exactly what you will receive before you sign.
That means you are trusting the operator while tokens sit in the vault. A compromised or dishonest server could lose them. Hosts should fund only what they intend to give away, players should claim their finds promptly, and operators should keep the vault small and run the audit check that compares the vault's balance with the ledger.
This is the first version of the custody design. A script-locked vault that takes the operator out of the trust chain is on the roadmap. Until then, treat anything in the vault like cash in someone else's pocket.

- One transaction from your wallet to the vault, after an explicit warning and confirmation.

- One transaction from the vault to you. You pay the network fee and the small ADA minimum that travels with tokens.

- Copies only, stored in your browser. Never touches the chain.

Questions
Do I need a wallet to play?
No. Choose "Try without a wallet" to fly around with demo NFTs and practise hosting in the sandbox. To collect real tokens in the live world you need a Cardano wallet on the same network as the server.
Which network is this?
The game shows the server's network on the world screen. Run and play on the preprod testnet first, where tokens are free and mistakes cost nothing.
My NFT's picture doesn't show up.
Most NFT images live on IPFS, and public gateways are sometimes slow. Open Settings in the game and try a different gateway. Some image hosts also refuse to be drawn in 3D; pick another NFT if one stays blank.
What does a claim cost?
The Cardano network fee, usually a fraction of an ADA, plus the minimum ADA that must travel with tokens: around 1 to 2 ADA depending on how many different assets you claim. Some servers add a small fee, which is shown before you sign.
Can I host a private hunt?
You can create a named hunt, drop into it and share its name so people know where to look. The world itself is shared, so anyone who finds your drops can collect them.
Can I run my own NFT Metaverse server?
Yes. It's a small Node server plus static files. The README covers setting up the vault wallet, choosing a network and deploying, so communities can run their own seasons and events.
